Engineers India Limited's filings describe him as an avid agriculturist with close to four decades of experience in innovative practices relating to horticulture crops and organic farming — work that ran alongside, rather than before, his party and institutional roles.

The choice is a deliberate one in a state whose agriculture is dominated by paddy. Horticulture means dealing with perishability, cold-chain gaps and market access; organic methods mean lower early yields in exchange for controlled input costs and a premium that has to be found. Both are, at root, problems of information and timing.

Recorded in Engineers India Limited's filings as a brief period of work in road construction. The reports also refer to work connected with state administration during these years. Neither is elaborated on in any published source, and this site records them as they stand rather than expanding on them.

His first profession. Engineers India Limited's annual report records that he began his career as a college chemistry professor and taught for several years before moving into agriculture. The institution, the town and the exact years are not named in any published source.

It remains the detail most frequently used to introduce him — "the chemistry professor who now runs the BJP's social media" — and the one that makes the rest of the record look less improbable than it first appears.
